Pihkaniskat is
a orienteering club with about 320 members, est. 1969, home location at Vantaa, Finland,
the airport city next to Helsinki.
Pihkaniskat arranges
both national, and international orienteering events as well as weekly
public events. Our most established event is the Pihkarastit
at the end of august. The weekend consists of a relay, night legs on friday
and day legs on saturday, and a sunday's individual competition.
Pihkaniskat takes part
on many international events, gaining many contacts to orienteers around the
world.
Pihkaniskat collaborates
with foreign orienteers, helping to make our northern forests better known to
them. We arrange maps and training, and many guests have run in competitions
in our teams. The countervisits have in turn helped our youth.
